Lake Renovation
Sam and Kayleigh purchased Willow View Lake at the beginning of 2020.
They were fully aware that the lake and grounds required some much needed attention but could see its potential and looked forward to taking on the challenge.

Over the years, dead plant leaves and other organic material had broken down and built up on the bed of the lake. Left unmanaged, this sediment unfortunately caused the lake to loose its depth.

At the end of 2020, permission was granted by the DDTM and the lake was fully drained so that major renovation work could be carried out.

Over 60 large trees were removed from the edge of the lake improving both light and air flow.
Whilst this felt like an awful lot of destruction, it was imperative to lessen the pull on the water resource in the summer and reduce the excessive leaf matter entering the lake in the winter.

Fast forward ten months later, the lake bed had dried out enough to start excavating and all of the silt was removed to regain depth and to provide the best possible environment for the fish to grow in the future.
This was also the perfect opportunity to reinvent the lake bed, providing a multitude of new features for each angler to fish to.

Whilst the lake was empty, a brand new vidange was also built to ensure better control of the water levels going forward.
The lake was then limed and allowed to re-fill so that planting up and swim building could begin.
